"Non-volatile" - an exhibition of the legend of Polish photography, Wojciech Plewinski.

THURSDAY, MAY 26, 2022 AT 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM

We invite you to our gallery for an exhibition presenting portraits of prominent figures associated with Polish cinema, primarily actresses and actors. The author of the photos is Wojciech Plewiński. Photographs of Anna Dymna, Beata Tyszkiewicz, Dorota Segda, Grażyna Barszczewska, Anna Seniuk, Krzysztof Komeda, Andrzej Wajda, Daniel Olbrychski or Jerzy Stuhr, among others, were developed by the artist especially for the exhibition "Nieulotne".
The exhibition is a feast for fans of Polish cinema as well as connoisseurs and collectors of art photography. Visitors will have the opportunity to see and purchase the first professional photographs of many of the later stars of Polish cinema, the famous intimate portraits of Krzysztof and Zofia Komeda, Barbara Kwiatkowska's captivating photograph taken at the iconic Jazz Camp in 1959 with both power and melancholy, Andrzej Wajda against the backdrop of posters for his films at a meeting at ZPAP in 1963 or during rehearsals for Biesy (The Possessed) at the Old Theater (1971), the fantastic crazy trio in a 1965 session for "Przekroj", namely Monika Dzienisiewicz, Grażyna Hase and Daniel Olbrychski, or Krystyna Zachwatowicz-Wajda in a surprising role as a model (1960).

On the occasion of "The Insubstantial," the curator of the exhibition, Livia Mądzik, asked several artists for a handful of memories from their collaboration with Wojciech Plewinski in the context of specific photographs that will be presented in the exhibition. The response was wonderful, and showed how important these meetings were to all of them, how they made them invulnerable.
We will publish these memories on a regular basis in the event posts. Also, keep an eye on our posts!
