Patrick Bulgak - Abandoned Daughters of the Tiger

26.01.2023 at 19:00 at the Large Room Studio, 4/6 Warecka Street, Warsaw.

"This is the story of the Tigresses - women of war, after which the dust does not fall..."
A place seen around the world as a tourist paradise is forgotten and silenced by the same world when thousands of people are killed. Sri Lanka holds the secrets of an ancient civilization, but also the darkness of modern war murders from which eyes have been averted. The ethno-religious conflict between Sinhalese and Tamils, which lasted several decades and ended brutally in 2009, marked the country, and most of all the women and men who remained, with blood and pain.
Warsaw-based photographer Patryk Bulhak decided to give voice to and show the faces of women who fought for their dignity and freedom during the war, and have to face social exclusion after it ended. This is a story about "female warriors, both those who fought on the frontline and those who fought outside it - rejected, marginalized by the state and the system."

Patrick... I personally know the photographer behind this amazing story that deserves to be told and known, but I also know the man behind the camera! A kind and generous man! I personally received his book from him as a gift for Christmas.... .And I feel honored by it
