Multiplication of internal colors
The psychology of colors in everyday life, as well as in art, says a lot about us. Not only artists pouring their emotions through paints onto canvases were guided by this inner stained glass of their soul's colors. Most people who photograph in color do exactly the same thing. In the people studied by Naz Kay and Helen H. Epps in terms of the influence of colors on their mood and emotions, the results show that the most positive colors are yellow and green, with blue in third place. Red was largely associated by everyone with anger, while dark purples, grays and black were associated with sadness, depression, grief.
However, each of us, although we may perceive colors similarly and fit in with the results of research done on the subject, the internal colors we wear may indicate something completely different to us and to the outside world.
Magdalena Miszkiewicz sets two worlds in the frame through her works. The outer world - the corporeal one, in which the existence of a human being is marked (which, it is worth noting, is practically never complete in its form) and the inner world, which fills the resulting image with colors. This combination builds a non-obvious portrait of man. It directs us to try to read not so much who these people are, but what they feel, what they struggle with. Such photographs are often mirrors for the viewer. They have the ability to make him look at himself.
Talking to oneself, exploring one's emotional colors, discovering and taming one's demons are eternal activities on countless layers of life. The author shows us that in front of and behind the lens such practice is equally important.
Every day I face my own demons, which inspire me to create new images.
Magdalena Miszkiewicz (22). I graduated from the High School of Fine Arts in Wroclaw with a degree in graphic design and from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw with a degree in Media Art - specializing in Photography and Multimedia. I am interested in artistic sessions. Measuring up to human corporeality, inner demons - voices roiling inside of us. I am fascinated by multiplication, color, light and blurs. I try to look for new patterns, my own faces, my own identities.
