Michal Pietrzak's latest solo exhibition The Limits of Time is the culmination of activities related to his doctoral dissertation, titled "The Future of the World. The Limits of Time. Between photographic and filmic recording. It addresses the issue of the methodology of recording time, in the context of the way it is formally recorded in the photographic image and its impact on the final artwork. It explores the issue of the spatio-temporal capacity of the visual object.

The result of this work is a proprietary method of building a multilayer multiplied image located in a state of apparent suspension on the border of photographic and film recording, having characteristics typical of both media simultaneously. It is based on the author's concept multiplied point.

It assumes information compression of data, successive temporal layering of an image in one place while changing the way it is observed and transforming it from moving to stationary. It is a compilation of various means and formal treatments that take visual forms with a record of spatio-temporal transmission.

Using the method in question, a multi-element multimedia object entitled 365+one. It is the result of a record of time enclosed within a single calendar year compressed in one place. A place important and intimate for the author, where the sphere of the sacred and the profane intermingle. The viewer enters this space, passing through the stages of its observation, becoming involuntarily a part of it.

MICHAL PIETRZAK, born in Bystrzyca Klodzka. He lives and works in Wroclaw. Graduate of the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, where he defended his doctoral thesis, the Higher School of Photography in Jelenia Gora and the Faculty of Architecture at the Wroclaw University of Technology. Member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers and the Association of Polish Artists and Photographers. Creatively expresses himself mainly through photography and video. His works are a kind of search for a compromise between the conceptual and formal aspects of art. He himself puts a sign of equality between the two. The result of his activities are polyptical objects often supplemented by moving time-lapse images. In his works he goes far beyond the boundaries of classically understood photography, which he treats instrumentally. He combines it with other media, giving it multidimensionality in space and time. His works are in the collections of the National Museum in Wroclaw, the City of Wroclaw and private collections. The author of such series as: Habitat, Greys, Facilities, Borders.
