lAbiRynT - Festival of New Art Słubice/Frankfurt on the Oder 20-22.10.2023- opening today
The cross-border festival of contemporary art has been held for 14 years throughout the metropolitan area of Slubice and Frankfurt/Oder. It is based on a three-day series of events from Friday to Sunday. Exhibitions, installations, sound art, performances, presentations, lectures and meetings with artists from Poland, Germany and other countries take place on both sides of the Polish-German border in 12 different locations.
Lectures and meetings with artists are held in the festival studio. All in Polish, German
and English. This is also how it is broadcast online. Year after year, the lAbiRynT Festival is growing in reputation. In this
year is held under the theme "Space and emptiness," to which the artists referred in their art works.
Admission to all presentations is free.
The organizer on the Polish side is the Słubice Municipal Cultural Center with its OKNO Gallery, on the German side
Slubfurt association and Messe und Veranstaltungs GmbH of Kleistforum. Last year, the Lifetime Achievement Award went to Jerzy Olek, who conceived and organized the first editions of the Labyrinth in Klodzko. The professor was present in Slubice, but unfortunately passed away after a few weeks. This year Labyrinth decided to bring closer the figure and work of Jerzy Olek, to whom several events of the festival are dedicated.
The full program can be found here.
We invite you to come to Slubice.
