photography and the image of the country (approach, point of view, origin of the author)
photography - is it a tool of creation, a work of art in itself or a form of cognition?
the creative process in photography
Spain by Eduardo Nave and Catherine Nizinkiewicz - the same or different stories?
For Eduardo Nave, photography is both a passion and a profession. He is an artist-photographer.
For Catherine Nizinkiewicz, it is a passion and an integral part of traveling.
Eduardo Nave's works are generally created as part of projects he has authored or co-authored with the NOPHOTO collective (he was one of the thirteen founders in 2006). At the meeting he will present his project Like, the process of which took several years to create. He documents the process on a set topic at a set time and place.
Catherine Nizinkiewicz, on the other hand, goes on a journey. She chooses a time and place for her discovery of the world. But she doesn't assume before the trip what she will direct her lens at, rather she lets it be the road traveled that reveals its treasures to her, to which she remains open. It is not so much that she speaks, but that she allows the world to speak through her and her camera.
Meeting organized in cooperation with the Embassy of Spain and the Institute of Tourism of Spain Turespaña.
Participants include:
Eduardo Nave, Spanish artist-photographer
Katarzyna Nizinkiewicz, traveler, photographer
Dariusz Fedor, moderating the meeting, editor-in-chief of "Continents" magazine
