Description

Who is the mysterious Josephine from the cover? Our cover is a digital emanation of the acute skin disease of a Filipina woman, who was photographed in a very sensitive way by Grzegorz Wełnicki. We also encounter the issue of "Views of Other People's Suffering" in the context of Pieter Hugo's photos, as well as those of other African photographers, and in later pages reading and looking at Maciej Pisuk's photos from Warsaw's Praga district, and further at Andrzej Mitura's. Then we take you to the dense realm of extravagance of Aaron McElroy, whose style of photography Kuba Ryniewicz called erotiko-surreal. And from there we go straight to Rafał Milach's 7 Rooms, which, years later, we probably don't need to introduce to anyone. Then we move to the world of neither photographs nor film frames by Gregory Crewdson, who seems to have woven them at the meeting point of reality, reconstruction and dream. There are also Indian workers in the Middle East by Jerzy Wierzbicki. In the "Portfolio of the Young" we exceptionally present as many as three photographers: Katarzyna Maksymowicz, Zbigniew Olszyna and Dominek Sadowska. "Unobvious" features diplomas and an exhibition from the Poznan Academy of Fine Arts - the issue comes with a DVD, and the text is written by Katarzyna Majak. Reports from ILLUMInations - 54th Art Biennale in Venice, 7th Biennale of Photography in Poznan, Transphotographiques - Nord(s), Format Festival in Derby, from "Blogspot" exhibition. Whether photography makes sense after the Holocaust with Janina Struk is discussed by Waldemar Sliwczynski. Adam Mazur talks about ZPAF and more with president Jolanta Rycerska, and Mariusz Widerynski talks about presiding over ZPAF and photography. From historical texts about photography, we have a text about Zofia Chomętowska's work and album "Polesie. Photographs from 1925-1939". Marta Szymanska tells how to publish your own album in a weekend, or a few words about self-publishing + book reviews + english summary
