Description

We begin with a text about Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi photography once and today in Kuba Ryniewicz's account of the London exhibition "Where Three Dreams Cross" curated by Sunil Gupta . Then a conversation with the photography duo of the time, namely Zuza Krajewska and Bartek Wieczorek, about what inspires them. Followed by Krzysztof Zielinski's photographed after-dark Berlin remnants of the Palace of the Republic. The next collective presentation (after the Indian one) is Jagna Olejnikowska's conversation with georgia Krawiec about contemporary German photography. For the purpose of this conversation, we also created a graphic that shows where on the map of Germany , a particular school is located, who represents it or what photographer comes from it, who teaches where. There are self-portraits by Magda Hueckel (also on the cover). Danny Treacy's photos from the "Them" series are shown, where we can see/not see the author dressed up in discarded clothes found somewhere. We do not know what identity these characters have. In the case of Francesco Giusti, we present a kind of the other side of the postcard, i.e. not so "sunny Italy" as we know it or the image we create in our minds when thinking about Italy. More documentary-like. There is also "The Garden of Earthly Delights," a series of staged photographs by Maria Dmitruk. There is "Father" by Marcin Sudzinski and "Park" by Filip Springer (the Springer we are reading). We report on the 9.Fotofestival in Lodz and its power of love (the main theme is "All my login") and the Month of Photography in Krakow, where the main theme was British photography; the 6.inSPIRACJE in Szczecin was all about glamour, and Irina Chmyrieva wondered if FotoFest2010 in Houston still says something about whether the US plays first fiddle. The second edition of the Art and Documentation Festival in Lodz directly refers to its name - from pure documentation of art to documentation as art. Anna M.Zarychta describes the multimedia album "Some Things Visible and Invisible," which is accompanied by a DVD in this issue. Vladimír Birgus and Tomáš Pospěch write about the exhibition "New Life. New Documentary," which shows materials from the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia. Witek Kanicki describes Katarzyna Majak's exhibition "Dress". Joanna Tekla Wozniak wrote about the exhibition "In Search of Happiness," which brought together the realizations of 35 international residents of Great Britain AND Poland. There is also about the photographic Publication of the Year ad 2009 and the 7th Edition of Collector Photography. There is also a text about the work of Zygmunt Rytka, who was doing well in 2010 and together with his wife was bringing the Sokolowsko resort back to life... Rytka died in 2018. Grzegorz Klatka writes about the weekly illustrated magazine "World". "The World" was published in 1951-69, and an important part of this magazine was the photographs of the doyens of Polish photojournalism Konstanty Jarochowski, Jan Kosidowski, Wieslaw Prazuch and Slawny. Finally, Marianna Michalowska reports on "Meetings with the World" and quotes many statements about the documentary practice of photographers. This was a series of meetings in Gdansk devoted to contemporary literary and photographic reportage, as well as photographic documentary projects, the screenings of which were held in parallel.
