Description

Waldemar Sliwczynski (1958) - documentary photographer, publisher and editor-in-chief of „Kwartalnik Fotografia” (2000-2012, 2022-2025) and „Wiadomości Wrzesińska” (1990-2020). His books -. Silence (2008) and Topography of silence (2012) and 808.2 km (2015) won honorable mentions in national competitions for Photographic Publication of the Year. In 2022 came out his memoirs of the time when he published and edited „Wiadomości Wrzesińska” and „Kwartalnik Fotografia” was born - the book is titled In my opinion. In 2018, the National Museum in Poznan published a book Forgotten Heritage. Manor architecture of Wielkopolska With his photographs. Originator and first curator of the Września Collection in 2009-2015. on June 1, 2022 launched the service  kwartalnikfotografia.pl, and later reactivated „Quarterly Photography” in print form. He is a graduate of cultural studies and philosophy at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. He publishes texts in scientific publications on photography, and is a member of the Union of Polish Artists Photographers and ZAiKS. He lives, works and creates in Września. He uses a classic analog photographic process - bellows large-format cameras and a small-format panoramic camera. He is trying to make friends with digital photography. In 1998-2008, together with Ireneusz „Erik” Zjeżdżalka, he formed the Wrześnica Creative Group. In 1990 he founded the Wrzesin Photographic Society.
