Tomorrow. Images of Young Adulthood.

Exhibition of photographs and objects by Katarzyna Navarra / Exhibition opening - 13.09.2024 (Friday), at 18:00 / Gallery of the S. Staszic Museum, Pila, 18 Browarna St. / free entry

The author will present two series of works at the exhibition: "Tomorrow. Images of Young Adulthood" and "Submerged." This is how she writes about her works:

What does the future hold for me? Can it be fixed?

These and other questions are answered by the protagonists of my project, young adults from Generation Z. Representatives of this generation have been surrounded by the Internet and digital technology from an early age, which has not been without influence on their thoughts, dreams, fears and goals.

Giving voice to them, I undertook to examine the formation of a young person's vision of the world and social relationships, emerging under the transformed norms and values of post-pandemic reality.

In individual meetings, I try to understand how technological advances
and the growing integration of the virtual and real worlds are affecting the lives and perspectives of a generation grappling with the challenges of adulthood.

Immersed in turn, is a project that reflects on growing up in an era of accelerated development of technology and social media. It's a metaphorical look at the phenomenon of deep immersion into virtuality - a space that offers much stronger stimuli than the real world.

The problem particularly affects young people, who are extremely susceptible to various forms of stimulus or online manipulation.

The constant bombardment with masses of information, whether true or not, critically translates into a distorted vision of reality in the mind of the adolescent Internet user.
