Inclusions
10.09.2022 at 18.00 at St. Mary's Gallery in Gdansk.
The phenomenon of inclusion, which is usually discussed in the context of political science, mathematics or mineralogy, also has important overtones in our current reality and human relations.
The starting point of the exhibition is a broader reflection on the process of incorporating a new element into a pre-existing structure. This type of transformation can be treated positively, as a separate and original quality is created as a consequence. On the other hand, the appearance of an unusual factor in the existing environment and the shaking of the staus quo often means difficulties, anxiety, complications.
How do we embrace change? Are they an irreversible part of the way we function? Do we find it easy to include another person in our lives and open up to their different way of seeing the world? What kind of emotions do these situations evoke?
Artists studying at the Film School in Lodz pose answers to these questions and analyze these social phenomena through the prism of the photographic medium.
