"Illustrations of Unpublished Fairy Tales" by Jacek Boczar in Wroclaw.
Illustrations of unpublished fairy tales is a series of photographs based on colorful imagination
author. They can be perceived both as single photos and endless
a series of fairy tale stories. It is an invitation to travel in the world of painterly
sensitivity, which on the plane of photography meets reality.
This cycle should be seen as a delight in a dream that could exist
and be captured by the camera. The author collects and stores thoughts about images
in the form of peculiar theatrical scenes, after which he conveys them to us in frames of
filled with a mysterious, fairy-tale atmosphere. Each of the presented stories
is a separate venture, providing an opportunity for a break from reality
and immersion in the world of fantasy.
A huge role in the stories presented is played by the props collected
and created for subsequent photographic works. To participate in the realizations
The author often invites friends. He chooses the characters himself, creates the situations and finds the places needed for their realization. During photo shoots, the photographer also enters the role of an actor. During this time, the camera, precisely positioned and triggered by a self-timer, captures the previously conceived scene. The author acknowledges,
That this modus operandi gives him a great deal of freedom in creating the entire event.
The works included in the series are thoughtful, orderly and, most importantly, carefully planned frames. They comprise an attempt to establish a dialogue
with the viewer's childlike sensibilities, leaving room for the viewer's own interpretations.
It's a cycle worth returning to and finding more than once,
Previously overlooked small details.
