Description
In issue 46, we begin with a report from Arles by our invaluable Czech friend Vladimír Birgus. Anna Jackowska, our newest contributor returns to June's Fotofestiwal in Lodz, Poland, to present the work of Diego Moreno, one of the memorable figures from this year's event. Adrian Wykrota of Pix Hous in Poznan gives a broad justification for the choice of the project 0169-8629 5223-01750 Karol Szymkowiak in the 2024 Talent of the Year competition.
On our cover we have a photograph of Sarah Moon, who, as it was said, will have an exhibition at Vintage. The silhouette of the French artist was outlined by the head of the Bydgoszcz festival herself - Katarzyna Gębarowska. Krzysztof Jurecki presents the work of Ewa Surowiec, who is internationally successful in different parts of our globe. Gosia Trzaskoś, through Piotr Nowak, shares her passion for photographing Gdansk backyards, and Krzysztof Szymoniak recalls the early collages of Jacek Boczar. The piece Cosmogony Krzysztof Penderecki inspired Artur Panczakiewicz to create a series of photographs, as Elzbieta Lyubovich writes. Tomasz Michalowski comments on his own photographs by asking a philosophical question: is it a dream or a dream of reason?
Krzysztof Slachciak, whose photos are analyzed by Marianna Michalowska, remains in similar reflective moods. Land Krzysztof Szlapa, on the other hand, was "taken to task" by Jerzy Orawski. The exhibition of Finnish photography is curated by Adam Mazur, who reminds us what the country's photography is all about, while Weronika Kobylinska describes the work of three somewhat forgotten photographers - Andrzej Georgiev, Mariusz Hermanowicz
and Antoni Zdebiak. Iga Niewiadomska takes a closer look at the work of Jan Makowski, Kamil Myszkowski takes a look at photojournalist Jozef Makal, and Monika Piotrowska takes a look at sports photojournalist... Tadeusz Cyprian. Portfolios of the young include Magdalena Miszkiewicz
