With head in the clouds
vernissage: 22.03.2024 / at 18.00 / the exhibition lasts until 5.05.2024 / Small Gallery of Photography KONTRAST
With head in the clouds, is my first solo exhibition and the culmination of four years of photographic travels to international air shows. My photography evolved more and more during this period, and I gained not only experience, but also conviction in what kind of photography I wanted to do. Better and better results, motivated me to continue working. Spotters' photography, as this field is called, is quite demanding. Here it is useful not only specialized equipment, which I systematically completed, but a good eye, reflexes, the ability to anticipate and a sense of the moment. The peculiar noise accompanying such events, sky-high, fast-moving aerial acrobatics, unexpected turns, pyrotechnic effects ... trigger adrenaline and concentration. The variety of flying objects from: balloons, paragliders, helicopters, turbine planes, gliders, jets required proficiency in handling the camera and "grabbing" fast targets through the lens.
The Antidote Air Show Leszno, which I had the opportunity to photograph twice, is an exceptionally spectacular show and this is where most of the photographs making up the exhibition come from. The organizers make sure that it is an exceptional show and it is.
I became interested in photography in the 1970s, I work as a Forestry Technician in the Oborniki Śląskie Forest District and photograph fauna and flora on a daily basis. My nature and forestry photographs were published by the Regional Directorate in the published calendar, and this year in the album publication Beauty of the Lower Silesian Forests, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the State Forests.
Since 2019, I have been a member of the Kontrast Photography Club, which operates in the Obornice Cultural Center, and I have participated in three club group exhibitions presented in the KONTRAST Small Photography Gallery. Fotoklub is the place where I develop and share my passion.
