"There is a certain pleasure in roadless forests, There is intoxication on a lonely coast, There is fellowship where there are no intruders, By the deep sea and the music of its noise: I love not man less, but Nature more."
- George Byron, "The Wanderings of Childe Harold."
"
"For a long time I avoided being alone with myself and sought myself in the relationships around me. Everything I think today I really needed I had very close to me and I didn't see it: silence in my mind and observation of nature. The beings around simply accepted as we accept ourselves. Acceptance in the field without the company of people and the noise they generate. This is my method of working with imagery. On a daily basis, I look for sensations in myself when observing the world. I listen and smell. I touch trees and grass, taste water and air. I quiet my thoughts in this way. Especially my rants and opinions. I am standing or sitting a point of self-observation without judging "good-bad." I ask myself how I feel in the moment and accept the answers. In photography, I choose the intimacy of the observer - I prefer to show what moves me rather than how I look when I am moved. On top of that, I deliberately do not hide the observed world with technical procedures that weaken its legibility. The only technological part of the workshop I use in the works presented in the exhibition "Non-pejazzi" is the abandonment of full color in favor of black and white."
- Karol Baginski
The photographs shown in the exhibition are created in natural terrain, unaltered by man. In such surroundings the author finds harmony and a sense of belonging to the surrounding world. Away from the human bustle and overload of stimuli. He works alone seeking to focus on the impressions that come to him. These are not pictorial landscape photographs. What dominates them is the mood and emotionality of the message, which is the actual content. He tries to record in the image, first of all, his own feelings when viewing the world from which modern people have separated themselves. As a naturalist by passion, he emphasizes the bond with nature. On some of the works one can easily recognize native alder or riparian forests, but also open desert spaces and sea coasts. Sometimes it's urban ordinariness spotted underfoot or high overhead. What he looked at and what he documentally photographed has little significance. It is actually a pretext for taking a photograph. The objects, composition and other elements of the workshop are primarily used to show the experiences he had. This is how he created a series of expressive photographs, the subject matter of which is defined by the title.
A selection of 18 archival, collectible, signed photographs framed in glass will be on display at Poprzeczna Gallery in Miechow (3 Poprzeczna St.).

Karol Baginski - born 1973. photographer, lecturer and teacher of photography. Post-producer of photography, DTP operator, fine art printer. Graduate of the Warsaw School of Photography.
He creates in the trend of expressive photography, mainly black-and-white works on silver negatives most preferably with a large-format 50-year-old 4×5" camera and a handy 6×7 rangefinder camera. As a naturalist by passion, he usually looks for motifs in natural terrain with minimal presence of representatives of his own species within the range of senses. He prepares the photographs himself in a traditional silver black and white darkroom (called analog) or digitally after digitizing the negatives.
