The Gallery of Photography of the City of Rzeszow and the State Archives in Rzeszow invite you to participate in the second edition of open training courses entitled. "Photographs in family archives", dedicated to the issues of organizing, describing, preserving and digitizing photographs in home archives.
Probably most of us have valuable family photographs in our home collections. However, we do not always know how to deal with them. What to do to save them from oblivion? How to prolong their life? These and other questions will be answered by specialists from the State Archives in Rzeszow.
The training will also cover a range of issues concerning private photographs from the Edward Janusz and Family Archive, held in the collection of the Photo Gallery of the City of Rzeszow. Participants will also have the opportunity to visit the Archive's warehouses and studios, which are inaccessible on a daily basis.
Applications and recruitment rules
Registration for the training is accepted by e-mail only, at warsztaty@gfmr.pl. If you are interested in participating, please send your application, indicating in the e-mail your name, contact phone number and the selected training date - either July 4 or July 18.
The number of places is limited. Sequence of applications decides.

Leading
Leszek Mierzwa - employee of the State Archives in Rzeszow since 1994. Since 2000 he has been in charge of the Department of records, development and preservation of archival resources, which organizes and develops photographs.
Ewa Molisak - employee of the State Archive in Rzeszow since 2005. Among other things, she organizes and processes photographs and prepares archival materials for digitization.
Paulina Koń - employee of the Gallery of Photography of the City of Rzeszow since 2013. Her work includes archiving and developing photographic collections from the GFMR Archive's holdings.
