The ancient land of Armenia lies in the high mountains, north of the great plains and rivers of Mesopotamia. The Republic of Armenia is a country with a rich yet difficult history, currently bordering Turkey, Russia, Azerbaijan and Iran. It is the first country to embrace Christianity, and can also claim the title of one of the cradles of human culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The photos were taken during two trips to Armenia in 1990 - 92. at the invitation of artists from Giumri, the organizer of the first open-air was Oganes Kazarian currently living in Poland. It was a difficult time for this country, affected by the earthquake and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Despite this, we were very warmly received there. We marveled at the magnificent views, were able to soak up the extraordinary culture and art of this nation, and ended up with a culinary experience! The presented exhibition is a fragment of photos from Armenia that I have saved in my archives and is presented for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ryszard Karczmarski Born in Gdynia 1957, graduated from Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin. Member of Foto - Klub Ziemi Che\u0142mskiej since 1972 and ZPAF leg.no.799. From 2003 - 2017 president of the Lublin District of ZPAF. He worked as a teacher and from 1985 - 86 as a photographer at the Chelm Land Museum. From 1986 - 2015 he ran a photography business at 26 Lwowska Street in Chelm. Instructor and master of photography. Member of association ,,POLART\" and GROUP 999. major photographic projects ,,World of sails\", ,,Night landscapes\", ,,Orthodoxy\", ,,PLACES\". , \"Touch of Light\", , \"Chelm City\", , \"Cards from a Journey - Armenia, Thailand, Ireland, Scotland, Indonesia, ,,Polesie - Ukraine 2013 - 17, ,,THREE SONETS\" - Crimea 2013, , \"From the borderland...\". Ukraine - Poland 2015 - 2021. two-time winner of the Che\u0142m KAJA Award, as an artist and animator of culture. In 2017, awarded the Gloria Artis Medal for his artistic activity and dissemination of culture. In 1996, he opened an author's gallery of photography in Chelm, \"GALERIA ATELIER\" A passionate analogue photographer and collector, he recreated a 19th century portrait photography studio in his home. Since 2015, he has been active as a freelance photographer<\/p>\n\n\n\n
